Charity Golf Tournament: join in the fun and help children
with special medical needs attend Camp!
Old Trail Golf Course: Crozet, Virginia
Event Date: June 6, 2012, Tee Time: 10 AM
Camp Holiday Trails, a camp for children with special health needs, is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, June 6, 2012Old
Trail Golf Club will host the 19th Annual Camp Holiday Trails Charity Golf Tournament. Formerly called the Baja Beanefit, the Camp
Holiday Trails Tournament continues to be a partnership with lead sponsor Ron Morse, owner of the Baja Bean restaurants.
Funds raised on this day directly benefit the programs at Camp Holiday Trails and the children attending them. Camp Holiday Trails
offers Summer Camp programs and Family Camp Weekends for youth and families living with the challenges of a chronic illness or
special health need. Our Campers come to us with diabetes, asthma, organ transplants, HIV, congenital heart disease, blood disorders
(among many other diagnoses) to safely enjoy a traditional, rustic camp experienced designed to foster personal growth. We focus on
the child, not the illness. Tee time at Old Trail is 10:00 a.m.with breakfast, lunch and snacks provided by Baja Bean, Trailside Coffee
and Bodo’s Bagels.
Before Camp Holiday Trails had a permanent facility, several Universityof Virginiapediatricians ran camps for their patients. Dr.
Bob Selden, founder of one of those camps and an early visionary of Camp Holiday Trails, often tells the story of one young patient
with cystic fibrosis who never had a chance to compete in sports or take home a trophy. At Camp, she discovered her skill at putt-putt
golf, spending her week at Camp practicing - and a trophy was hers to take home for the first time.
Play, sponsor, cheer us on - every kid deserves to just be a kid at Camp.
