New City Hall Passport Service

Anyone looking to apply for a U.S. passport for the first time can now do so at the Charlottesville Treasurer’s Office.
The city is now offering a convenient, customer-focused service for people to initiate passport applications at Charlottesville’s City Hall — customers will also have the flexibility to schedule their preferred time online without having to call or wait in line for an appointment.
According to a release, the new service was in response to community feedback that another passport application facility was needed in the Charlottesville area, which is currently only served by the U.S. Post Office on Route 29.
