Demolition work is getting underway on the old Cavalier Inn at the corner of Ivy and Emmet streets in Charlottesville.
Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will change beginning Tuesday, weather permitting, when the sidewalk and one lane southbound of Emmet Street will be closed between Ivy Street and the Central Grounds parking garage entrance — work crews will be on site from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, for about 3 weeks.
