Beginning January 7 th , former Virginia Tech Defensive Coordinator Bud Foster begins a new chapter in
sports radio. Foster will co-host a one-hour regional show that will air Saturdays at noon. The show is in
partnership with Monticello Media and CVILLE 107.5.
Foster, the current Special Assistant to Athletic Director Whit Babcock, served the Virginia Tech
football staff for 33 years. Former Virginia radio play-by-play man Mac McDonald will serve as Foster’s co-host and show producer. “Bud and I have discussed this show for a while, now,” said McDonald. “Foster and Friends will give Bud a platform to discuss everything from the safety blitz to how to succeed in business. He has a great feel for the broadcasting industry and will be a true asset to the airwaves.”
Foster began his tenure at Virginia Tech in 1987. He became Frank Beamer’s defensive coordinator in
- He won the Frank Broyles Award in 2006 for the top assistant in college football and was the American Football Coaches Association Defensive Coordinator of the Year in 2000.
